MATERIALS & CARE

We hope you love our jewelry as much as we do. Getting to know about our jewelry’s material and take a few extra cares to what you purchased will help to increase the longevity of each beautiful piece.

Materials

Base

Sterling Silver (925 silver)

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals. This 7.5% is usually made of copper or zinc. Sterling silver can tarnish over time but the tarnish can easily be removed with a polishing cloth. Don’t worry, we got your polishing cloth covered. A free polishing cloth will be included in your order.

Brass

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. It is one of the most popularly used metals for jewelry and can gleam as good as gold. Due to its workability and durability, brass is a very good choice for jewelry and is increasingly being used in the jewelry world.

Plating

What is plating?

Plating is also known as electroplating. Electroplating is the process of plating a metal onto the other by hydrolysis mostly to prevent corrosion of metal or for decorative purposes.
All of our jewellery is plated with either gold or rhodium. Anything plated will eventually tarnish with time and wear. Let’s take some extra cares to maximize its lifespan.

Gold plating
Gold plating is a process where a thin layer of gold is bonded onto a base metal. At Jolicc, we  use 18k gold to finish all the golden colour jewelry.

Rhodium plating
Rhodium is a silvery-white, hard, and corrosion-resistant metal. It is also a member of the platinum family. Rhodium gives off one of the best sheens achievable, making it a very popular metal for jewelry. All of our silver colour jewelry are finished by this process.

Freshwater Pearls
We use cultured freshwater pearls from freshwater pearl mussel. Each pearl is unique in its shape. Hand pick with care for your favourite pearl jewelry from Jolicc.

We want your jewelry to stay in optimal condition!
